ABSTRACT
Shared space is a symbol of togetherness in human society. With the space limitation, mainly due to physical space has an economic value, the existing of shared spaces are dynamics. In traditional Madurese Settlement, there is a specific shared space named Tanean. In Madura Medalungan Community Settlement at Baran Randugading village, has many similarities in architecture and settlement model with the real Madurese’s in Madura Island. With the difference of culture and environment, the dynamics use of share space need to be study, as a local wisdom. To answer that question ethnographic studies were conducted to determine the background of people’s lives, and know the activity of joint activities in the community. . In the analysis phase are activity mapping in the micro (house), meso (cluster housing), and macro (village). As the results of the study,the shared space are mostly formed on the terrace or emper, yard or tanean, front room or balai, traditional kitchen, space between buildings, and roads. Dynamics of space occurs when a change in the character space, from private to semi-private or public. There are also differences in the utilization from time to time.
